Can my condo association charge me, a condo owner, for the cost of
renovating or repairing the balconies of the entire building?
Everyone in the condomium is getting billed. One bedroom are charged
$1500 and Two bedrooms are charged $3000.
I thought i was responsible for only the inside of the condo.
I really need help with this soon.
Thanks to anyone that can help.

Son, there's an old country saying that will answer your question:
Can a dog lick its balls? Answer: Of course it can!

Never just talk unprepared to the board members or the management
company. Usually, the board members are the least qualified of all
the owners. Most of the managemnt companies barely know what they
are doing. Always read the pertinent documents and then pose direct
inquiries to the board. Otherwise, they will tell you crap.
In your case, read carefully the pasages of your Declaration of
Condominium (or whatever is the name of the document that
talks about common expenses). Clearly identify the passage
that states who is responsible for maintenence of the balconies.
If this is responsibility of the associaiton then they have the
right to impose special assessment. But also use it to your
advantage. Whenever anything on your balocny needs
repair always call the manageemnt company and demand immediate
repair. All the owners have to pay for it as common expenses or
limited common expense, each owner paying proportionately
as stated in the Declaration of Condominium (usually it depends on
square footage
of each unit).
