It's sort of an alt.home.repair FAQ. http://www.factsfacts.com/MyHomeRepair

This may sound silly, but I have seen where the plumber hooked up the hot
water line to the toilet, and that will definitely cause the bowl to sweat!

That was a joke, right? Hot water would not cause it to sweat, but I
doubt if it would do any good for the workings of the toilet.

No it wasn't a joke. Try it. Hook up your hot water to your toilet. This
happened in a new home that I was workin' in back in the 80s. I don't
recall the time of year, but the toilet sweat profusely with hot water in
it.
Op --I'm an electrician, so I only hooked-up the 220v wires to the toilet,
and not the hot water line.--

Probably melted the wax seal to the floor connection? Drip, drip!
Wouldn't sweat but it might 'steam' each time it was flushed!

Must be something else going on. It would not cause it to sweat. The
physics are just not there. Try filling two like pans, load one with water
and ice and the other with hot water. Wait ten minutes, Which one is
sweating?
