I can't find it in the supermarket. Has it been discontinued?

A Froogle search only brings up liquid and "drop in" Vanish products.

Hi James
Without getting into another long discussion like we did with the various
Windex brand products available, suffice it to say that you want the VANISH
brand made by SC Johnson, Inc., Not the ones made by Drackett, Reckitt-Benckiser
(formerly Reckitt-Coleman), or JohnsonDiversey.
The one made by SC Johnson, Inc. is "Vanish Crystal Toilet Bowl Cleaner"!
Since all the companies have merged under one umbrella, THEY control where
they will distribute certain products.
Like ConAgra bought out both LaChoy and Chun King, so your store or area
will only have one or the other available. I hate LaChoy so have to import
Chun King from California when I want some. It's still made, just not distributed
across in-house competing areas.
If anybody knows where I can find some Maurice Lenell's Almonettes (a cookie)
I would like to know what area they are still distributed in.

The OP is looking for Vanish Crystal Toilet Bowl Cleaner. Why confuse
the issue talking about other Vanish products?

Perhaps you should have posted this in alt.flame.

I'm sure everyone here knows, the Almonettes is the name manager Maurice
Lenell gave the Dixie Chicks so he could get them a gig at Dubya's
Second Inaugural Ball. If you're looking for a gullible audience,
perhaps you should try alt.troll.

Because that is all he was finding in his search was the other products,
NOT what he was looking for.

Not a bad idea, perhaps I might!
ConAgra gets my goat anyhow.

Now that don't make any sense at all Marcey!
Maurice Lenell Cookie Company, a division of Hearthside Baking Co, Inc.,
DOES manufacture a cookie under the name Almonettes. The UPC code for the
smaller size package is UPC 704531102.
Their cookie bakery is in Norridge, Illinois, but they QUIT distributing
their cookies west of the Mississippi for some reason quite a number of years
ago.
Living close to Illinois in St. Louis, I could drive across the river and
pick up a few boxes of cookies.
Now that I've moved EAST of the Mississippi I cannot find their cookies anywhere.
There are look alikes, but they don't taste alike!
I went for many years without Bonomo Turkish Taffy because they quit making
it, then for almost 20 years without Chun King Chow Mein because I thought
it was no longer available too. A friend told me it's on their store shelves
in California, but not LaChoy there. So they sent me a few cans as a gift
once and I've been getting it from them regularly. I sent them some LaChoy,
but they didn't like LaChoy either!
I bought a carton of Turkish Taffy from a company that claims it's like the
old Bonomo brand, but it wasn't, so now I'm stuck with a case of the look
alike, taste different Turkish Taffy.
All I want to know is if anybody here has seen Almonettes on their store
shelves and if so, what city was it in. I'll take it from there!

Hi Choreboy

Which STATE?????
We have all of those stores here too, yet none of them have that brand of
cookie.
Sam's carries greatly different products here than they did in St. Louis
and St. Charles. They even differed greatly between area stores as well,
which was quite surprising.
CVS is new to me here, they don't exist in St. Louis that I know of.
We do have a Dollar Tree and Walgreens right up the street from me. Been
in both many times.
I use a particular store brand of after shave that Walgreens carries. It
was plentiful in St. Louis for decades, then they quit carrying it, telling
me it was no longer available. After moving down here to Knoxville, I again
found it on their shelves.
But the St. Louis stores would still say, it's not available.
If you let me know what state you are in, it might help me to locate a company
that ships the product. Lenell is in Illinois, but apparently they don't
sell in Illinois nor West of the Mississippi.

Your post brought back memories of a secret training base on a bayou
near US 278 many years ago, where another SOC cadet introduced me to
Almonettes. We used to save quarters in our bedposts to buy them.
So I called Lenell at 800 323 1760. I told the lady I live in TN and
want to buy some Almonettes. She named those stores.
I didn't tell her I live in Knoxville because Homeland Security monitors
my calls. Last week they fined me $10,000 for giving out my email
address when I ordered some All Natural Cleaning Products from Veriuni.
I consider that a slap on the wrist compared to penalties they might
have imposed under the Patriot Act.
I can't blame them for keeping tabs on me. We were warned at the time,
"Loose lips sink armored amphibious swamp submarines."
