Looks like a French style chair of the Louis period.

I think that's a ebonized carved oak chair. I also noticed you were online shopping at Ethan Allen, I have to admit I love shopping at Ethan Allen whenever i'm interior decorating for my classiest clients due to their sophisticated taste in furniture so I give you props for having such elegent taste in furniture. I love it there! We have an entire Ethan Allen store here which I much enjoy shopping at.
