I hope this is the right place to post this but anyways...

I baught my new home in July of this year. It was a new field that was cleared out and new homes were built on. These mice are field mice. I live in Ga. About 2 months after buying my home my wife said we have a mice problem in the attic and in between the walls. I can hear them running and biting in between the walls. I called the exterminator but they said they can't guarantee they'll stay out. They said they'd leave poison pellets around the attic so they'd die but I don't want them to die in the attic and start a stench around the house from rotting. Especially when summertime comes around.

Has anyone ever delt with this problem? I just came from the attic and some of the wires that have a foam like protection around them have bite marks on them. And It's been 4 months. I am about to go overseas for 6 months and don't want to come back to a house full of holes and bitten wires. Can anyone give me any advice? Any electronic devices out there that can send them running away from the frequency they emit?

I catch about 7 a week in the attic on glue traps. The least...4. I can't find how they get in the house. They haven't appeared inside the house(living room, kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms, garage..etc) Just in the attic and inbetween the walls. I am surprised they don't get in the garage.
Thanks,
Johan

Trapping is the best control one mice enter the home. Make sure you put out lots of traps. The use of baits and poisons indoors is not recommended because of odor associated with dead mice.

Seal all entries where mice can enter. Mice can enter through a 1/4" gap. This includes where wires and pipes enter the home. Seal openings around pipes beneath sinks.

Thank you. Finally a response. I will check outside for openings. My house is made of all brick. In between some of the bricks they left a small space. It's about 1/4". They said it's to keep humidity out or for some sort of ventilation. To keep moisture out. Are those spaces going to be a problem. I took some pics. The spaces are only from the first two set of rows from the ground up. And should I fill them up with some sort of silicone?
