stains on cabinet kitchen......pls help
************************************************** *

We have some very light colored wooden kitchen cabinets with
transparent poly
paint.

We seem to have some stains...the stains are white in color

Are these water stains ?

How does one get rid of these stains ?

Can anyone pls help me ....

Where do I start ? is there a liquid that I can apply that will get
rid of these stains ?

I am not very handy so pls help me.

Thanks

Kim

they sound like water stains. unless someone here has a better idea (highly
possible!!) you can sand it back & re-finish. you might be obliged to do the
whole door, or even all of them, for colour matching as the new area may
well look different, although that's less of a risk if the wood is very
light.

Hi Kim,

Kylie makes a good point - sanding is an excellent way of getting small, superficial stains off wooden surfaces.

Its what my dad does, as we are always spilling stuff an just leaving it on the side. The worst has to be Grenadine! Bright red stains! After a while sanding them out, its as good as new!

hope this helps

if you cabinets are finished with lacquer - you can call these spots blushing and they will go away in time if you don't continue to get them wet - or you can try to rub them with peanut butter. i've never tried myself but heard that it works. worst case - you can sand it out - but you'll have to refinish all of the doors to match.

I was going to say sanding myself. I just used it yesterday it works much better other possible methods.

sanding is the better way.
