My husband & I just purchased a new home in Richmondhill which was a significantly large venture for us. I was a little scared of coming into a brand new house and having to do all the decorating and finishing on my own. I was recommended by a friend who had renovated her 20 years home with an interior designer, to give the designer a call. I was worried she'd come in and tell me I needed to invest another $100,000 to make my home look great, but to my surprise she worked completely around our budget. I used Erica from Eyeful Interiors and could not have been happier. I would recommend her to anyone looking to complete their home. I once heard the saying 'your home is the biggest investment you will ever make, why not showcase your assets'. I thought I would share that with everyone and maybe help out a few people. Does anyone have any designer stories?

Hello I think it would have been worthwhile if you could have mention about the budget that was expended for the interior designer. As I am also thinking of the same to renovate my newly purchased house with the help of an interior designer but then I have never taken the help of them and have no idea about their rates. Well I also do understand that the rates may differ from place to place but still it would be worthwhile to get an idea.

Budget is a big deal; even PROS need to have it planned. So big that without it you won't even get to start. Settle then your budget but always allot an allowance just in case.

I have hired some designers who never complains about the budget but always try to not to exceed one.
