Hey, you could always brighten it up with some sort of cool lighting, i bought some cool tree twig lights from an online store called lights4fun which look pretty good :)

Hello there! I would suggest a wall fountain, not only will the sound of water sooth you during a hard days work but it'll freshen up the room! Purchase some nice photograph frames and place photo's of your family in it also to get you through those not so good days at work and hang it in your wall! Get a comfortable but stylish office chair so it won't hurt your back, I would normally suggest perhaps a suede office chair but that would be to risky considering getting stains out of suede is nearly impossible. So try a nice comfortable leather office chair. Depending on the size of your office I think a rug would go lovely in it aswell. If your wall's look boring or bland you should add some nice paintings or fine photography on them add some elegent and tasteful curtains. I would suggest coloring of this all but I don't know the shade of your office, if you told me the wall color or the flooring I would be able to be more descriptive as to what you should get.
