I don't know who does it, but there is a dog in my neighborhood that leaves me a surprise every morning, at 5:00, and I have been up until four, but I do not see them, is there a way to prevent this? I do have signs, should I post a new sigh that says, "If you do not clean up, I will kill you, your family, and your dog!" That may help, but that may be illegal! :D

Any ideas?

either put up a fence, or the cheaper solution and not illegal, put up a sign that says "Any dogs found on my property will be reported and taken to the pound."

There is this one method my neighbor taught me, you take an empty milk jug (the gallon kinds), you fill it water and I think lemon juice, you leave the cap off, and you use four to form a square perimeter, or however much you need. Its supposed to keep dogs and cats away somehow. Anyone know more about this method?

Either that or catch the dog immediately after it does its business, put the poop in a bag and use tape or string to tie the bag to the dogs collar, then write a note that says, "next time its not only the poop thats going to be in a bag". Send the dog on its way, it should go home, the owner should get scared. My friends father used this method, made him less popular in the neighborhood, but much more respected.

I never really knew how to handle it since I am always away when the dogs/cats do this :(

I've seen dog fences that use magic or something to keep dogs away.

I'll try to find a link.
