Hi all,
I have a gas fireplace in a 16x21 beige-carpeted great room that is not
embedded in the wall. It's basically a wooden cube that's placed midway
along one of the 16 foot walls.. I figure the TV will go on one side.. I'm
wondering what creative things I can put on/near the fireplace to make it
look nicer. Thanks.

What are it's dimensions?
How far does it stick out.
A traditional look, if for book shelves or built in sideboards on each side
of the fireplace.
Maybe low cabinets, and then book case type shelves above on each side of
the fireplace.
I've also installed windows into the walls on each side of the fireplace and
built 'window seats' for storage/seating.
