View Full Version : minimalist looks clean
Just a reminder that having more open space gives the effect of being
clean. If you have a house crammed with lots of stuff, it is going to
be hard to look clean. A suggestion would be to get more shelves
against the wall to put things away on. This will give you more open
floorspace and a cleaner appearance.

I actually like this look. My large house is minimally furnished
without ornament (except for the holidays). No pictures or draperies
to dust or clean. I call shelving "dust collectors" and prefer closed
cabinets.

Our restrooms are easier to clean now that we've removed the doors from
the stalls and the seats from the toilets.

Getting rid of genuine clutter both gives a "cleaner" appearance and
reduces the actual chores of cleaning. However, stacking the same
stuff on shelves isn't the solution. Nor employing "storage solutions"
under beds or on the backs of doors. The key is 'getting rid of' Stuff
you don't use or appreciate.
