Actually, I have my Agent settings not to archive with Google, but
there are archive programs that don't honor x-no archive: yes posts,
or settings in headers.

Yes, the German server is my news *server*. My news *reader* is
Agent.

Uhm, I suppose so.
However, I'm not aware that you can use the German server for posting.

I've used both Agent and Outlook Express solely for posting in
newsgroups.

I'm not sure what you keep getting worked up over.
You can read via the German server. I don't believe you can post via
the server. If the OP is wanting to post, she/he will still need to
use a newsreader, not just a news server.

She will need a newsreader to read the posts. Once registered and with that
newsreader configured correctly she can also post to Usenet via the German
server.
