i am a guy, so forgive my ignorance. i bought some
potpourri at kmart the other day, but i don't know how to
use it. it's basically a bunch of flowers and sticks in a
plastic bag. am i supposed to pour it in a bowl? is that
the standard proc

Almost. You are supposed to pour it into a *cute* bowl. I would
choose a bowl that is low and wide, but that's just me. Others
would use a basket for the added air flow, but then you have to
put something on the bottom to keep the little bits from falling
through.

I hope you colour matched it.
If not then stuff old ladies stockings with it and hang them about the room

A manly bowl would probably work, too. Like maybe a beer car with the top
ripped off or a hubcap?
