What's the best strategy for cleaning bathroom tile? What
chemical should I use on the floor? And should I use a mop
or something else

Glazed tile should be easy to clean. It's the grout that's the problem.
The first step is to get everything very clean. I would use a scrub brush
and detergent. You can use a 50% solution of bleach and water on the grout
if it is stained of has mold. Once it is all clean, use a good sealer on
the grout and repeat every 6 months or according to the direction on the
sealer. I use a steam mop on my tile floor, but a damp mop should also
work fine. In the shower, I use a mist of the tile after each use.
Periodically I use some Soft Scrub with bleach to remove any accumulated
soil and mildew. I also use a steam cleaner occasionally on the tile and
shower door.

To prevent mold and mildew, promote rapid drying. Use fan and leave shower
doors or shower curtains open to allow good air circulation.
