View Full Version : Steam cleaner condensation

Hi, everyone,

Just got a vapor steam cleaner and had my first ever run with it
today. It's a cannister model retailing in the $150 price range.
This is a brand new technology to me. Until today, all I knew about
these things came from Internet reading.

It did the job, but it has several annoying characteristics. The
worst is water condensation in the hose -- or at least, that's what
the manual says it is. I find that if I put it down for more than a
minute or two, I have to squirt out a stream of water into the sink
before it will steam properly again. I suspect it wastes a lot of its
water.

Is this normal, or am I doing something wrong? And is there anything
I can do to minimize this problem? I've never seen it mentioned
anywhere except in the manual.

I had the impression this was one of the better models in its price
range. I'm beginning to wonder if people who spend big bucks on
top-of-the-line steam cleaners have a point. How high do you have to
go to get a really convenient cleaner?

Thanks,
Laura
