My windows do not open for some reason. Actually, all the windows in my house do not open. All I have is a balcony door.

Should I use an air purifier or something?

I find that the best way to not have dust is simply to vacuum every now and then. That has always gotten rid of any aggravating dust. Then again, I generally am not bothered by dust. If you are talking about larger amounts of dust bugging you, then simply being diligent with vacuuming works. Smaller amounts, then maybe you might want to consider an air purifier.

Just get a cloth and some of that spray dusting stuff and get the most used rooms in the house once a week.

Air purifiers are the shit. I have one and it works really well. It wouldnt hurt to get one and see if that helps, and the worse that can happen is that you have clean air. :)

Air filters—either added to a furnace or a room unit—can reduce the levels of allergens. Electrostatic and HEPA (high-efficiency particulate absorption) filters can effectively remove many allergens from the air. If they don’t function right, however, electrostatic filters may give off ozone, which can be harmful to your lungs if you have asthma.

I would try the above ideas first. A HEPA filter in your furnace sounds to be like a very good idea and could do nothing but help.
