I am having the biggest problem with one of my dogs. He just a little......slow. I don't think he is ever going to learn. :(

One thing that will "NEVER work" is the old stick their nose in it. Or hitting them with anything , you need to use positive reenforcment, to correct this behavior

Um.... I agree with the not beating of the dog part, but i have found that rubbing the dogs nose in it is effective after about a month of starting the training.

Unfortunatly, i've trained too many. We had a dobermann who died of gastric torsion (my spellings bad, twisted stomach) at 3, A Rottweiler who had 'doggie aids' (hey... i was 8) at 6 years, a Mutt who went to a mate of my stepdads to become a working dog... and have helped afew people train others. But what i think it really comes down to, is what method of 'acting' you would wanna try.
