Next time when you wake up with a trobbing head and a killer hangover you will be able to rest easy knowing that you will be able to remove that vomit you deposited on the carpet/hardwoodfloor/clothes.
Carpet
Scrape off as much of the mess as possible. To remove smell (before cleaning the stain), blot with water and a bacteria/enzyme digester, such as Odormute, available in some pet stores. (This product chemically removes the sources of odors, instead of just masking them.) Sponge with water and blot the stain to remove. As an alternative, sponge with a solution of 1 tablespoon Borax in 2 cups warm water, with a few drops of antiseptic. If stain persists, work in carpet shampoo on a sponge. Rinse and blot dry.
Note: Act fast. Stomach acids in vomit can bleach fabrics.
Clothes
Scrape off as much of the mess as you can. Rinse with cool water. Soak for half an hour in a mixture of 1 quart warm water, 1 teaspoon laundry detergent, and 2 tablespoons ammonia. Rinse. If the stains are persistent, soak in an enzyme detergent (such as Biz, Era Plus, Tide, or Wisk). Then wash in warm water. If odor persists, wash again.
Note: Act fast. Stomach acids in vomit can bleach fabrics.
Hardwood Floors
Sprinkle cat litter, or a brown powder called Z Goop (available in janitorial supply stores), to absorb the vomit. Then scoop up and toss. Wash floor as usual.
