Hi! I'm new here, but am in the process of redecorating my house. I've chosen a light green (similar to Garden Sage SW7736 by Sherwin Williams) for the living room area with light trim. We're considering red with black accents for the kitchen. Is that too drasticly different to work in the same house? Should the home be an overall 'general' color scheme? I also like a powder blue with superwhite trim and accents, and think that goes better with the subtle green in the living room, but my husband really prefers the red. Suggestions please!!
~Lani Also - we've got stainless appliances in the kitchen and were planning on getting a dark, almost black countertop even before the red colorscheme came into play. Thanks! |

No, you can do anything you want. That's what makes it fun. If every room were burgundy and gold, what fun would that be?
The blue and white is for either a country look or a minimalist/contemporary look. It will only look rich if you add massive furniture to it. Otherwise, it's a more casual and relaxed color combination. The red/black will make your room darker, so make sure to either have enough natural or overhead light. However, it can make your room look grand and rich if you have heavy dark wood furniture. Your fabric accents can be brighter and "pop" (to neutralize the red/black). I personally never liked blue walls because it takes longer to find fabrics for it and you do have to try a bit harder if you want the room to look warm, but that is just my opinion. The red is nice, but have you considered white trim as well? Good luck! |

Thanks for the response! I've considered a white trim, but hubby likes the black. We have quite a bit of light kahki (sp) left over from the living room trim, but I'm not sure how that would look with red OR blue for that matter. I'm so bad at figuring out what will look good where...
We painted the living room last weekend and I'm very pleased with the way it turned out. We ran into a few problems with the textured paint and our application technique, but once we figured it all out it went pretty quick! |

Hi
I don’t have so much idea regarding this subject. Just I suggest you to take steps accordingly. |

Maybe you could post some pictures of what your room turned out to be to give us some ideas as to what we can also apply with our room or home redecoration.
