Default Spring into safety

Spring is a great time to give your home a face-lift, but before you begin a project, take these precautions against accidents:

Don't try to “wing it.” Read all directions for your project before you start.

Keep tools in good shape. Make sure hammer heads are secure, and keep saws and chisels sharp.

Unplug power tools when you're not using them or are changing blades and bits.

Use proper techniques. Don't pull nails with pliers — use a claw hammer instead. Pound nails only with hammers and use a vise to hold small objects.

Protect yourself. Wear ear and eye protection when necessary. Don't wear jewelry or baggy sleeves, and pull back long hair. Wear a mask when you sand or saw, and wear chemical-resistant gloves when using solvents.

Of course, your SecurityLink monitoring system helps you protect the house you work so hard to make a home. But did you know we can also help you protect your home from water damage and changes in temperature? Our Electronic Water Detector helps alert you to leaks or overflows before they become big floods. Our Temperature Sensor activates when temperatures fluctuate above or below levels you set, before possible damage to pipes and other temperature-related accidents can occur.
