Always keep safety in mind. Use the Internet to learn more about safety guidelines for nursery furniture.
Use secondhand sources, especially for items that are short-lived like walkers and jumpers.
Plan ahead and decorate for the future. Use baby furnishings that convert to toddler beds, and decorating themes that might last beyond infancy.
Decorate with clear colors that will mix well together and coordinate with toys and accessories.
Do it yourself to save money. Paint, wallpaper, put up shelving, sew bedding, and decorate furniture.
Budget wisely by putting money into things that will last. Then make do or use secondhand items for the rest.
Choose a decorating theme and register for gifts that will help furnish the room (bedding, furniture, and accessories).
Paint walls with a color that can be live on with future updates in fabrics, bedding, and accessories.
Create storage areas with chests, shelves, and closet spaces to hold toys, clothing, and essentials.
